Background: Growth hormone (GH) excess is associated with increased insulin resistance (IR). Lanreotide autogel (Autogel) reduces GH-levels effectively in patients with active acromegaly. However, the effect of somatatostatin analogues on IR and (-cell function (HOMA %B) is complex and unpredictable.
